KIV Capital was founded by Krishen Iyer as a strategic vehicle to deploy family capital where opportunity is otherwise overlooked — and to build a consulting and connection practice grounded in 18+ years of transactional experience across insurance, real estate, and private capital.
On the capital side, KIV employs targeted hedging strategies and generates income through the disciplined sale of covered calls. When markets are extended, KIV positions S&P puts four to five months out as a measured hedge against downside risk. KIV also holds direct investments in mining through Kirkland Mining Co., a beachside residential community in Costa Rica, and an exotic car rental operation. This capital activity is entirely internal — a financial overview and deployment vehicle, not a public fund or advisory service.
On the consulting side, KIV engages with experienced projects where deep pattern recognition adds value — reviewing capital structures, identifying operational leakage, and advising on complex situations where a practitioner's read matters more than a generalist's framework. KIV is not a licensed investment adviser and does not provide advisory services to the public.
KIV also connects insurance-based organizations — carriers, MGAs, and distribution platforms — with the verticals, operators, and expertise they lack or need. Licensed agents and agencies introduced through KIV are independent and make their own business decisions and implementations. KIV facilitates introductions; it does not direct, supervise, or control the activities of any licensed agent or agency.
